Although it's hard to see it in this photo, the name Chapline is engraved in the center stone at the top of our building. So far all we know is that the building was built 1930. We plan to dig into the history a bit more. Stay tuned.
WWII era Douglas Fir
This beautiful Douglas Fir was reclaimed from a farm house in Waco Texas once owned by the family of one of our partners, Pat Buchta. His mother was kind enough to give us a farm-house size supply with which to build our bar. Delta Millworks helped revive the wood.
Thanks to Pat, Pat's mom (Pat), and Pat at Delta Millworks - you can't make this stuff up.
These two bottles were found under the slab inside the bar when the plumbers jack-hammered through the concrete to run the plumbing.
They come courtesy of Three Rivers Whiskey once based out of Pennsylvania (Pittsburg probably) and, of course, a couple drinking buddies circa 1930s. Apparently you could buy a quart for $1.50 in those days.
